Lea & Sandeman is about wines to drink - not just wines that impress at tastings. They particularly emphasise drinkability and try to offer wines which do not just impress on first taste, but leave you wanting another glass.
More important than meeting price points, Lea and Sandeman is about value for money. From the very beginning this meant sourcing wines direct from growers. Although many of the domaines and growers on our list today are the same as when we started, our range has developed over the years, reflecting the introduction of both traditional and innovative producers. We are not name-buyers, we are quality buyers - our Sauvignon de Touraine is better than cheaper Sancerres, our Sancerre is among the best in the appellation.
They have tasted and travelled happily and widely over many years to bring the list to its present state, and are delighted to be able to offer many exciting new discoveries as well as wines from some of the world’s finest producers. In all cases the criteria for selection have been simple.

A portfolio that contains many of the world’s finest wineries from, at the last count, 14 countries.

Armit Wines is an alternative wine merchant for discerning customers, articulated through carefully curated wine selections.
When John Armit founded the business in 1988, he pioneered the practice of buying directly from producers and building long standing personal relationships. Today, we continue to embody John’s original philosophy. We operate as the antithesis to the traditional style of a wine merchant and are proud of our enviable portfolio. We continue to exclusively represent a global roll call of extraordinary wine estates and distribute them via a multi-channel approach to hotels & restaurants, private collectors, retail, wholesale and other fine wine merchants.
Thorman Hunt & Co was established in 1978 to provide top quality examples of individual French growers wines to the UK Independent Wine Trade. Since that time, their focus has, very much, remained on France and whilst the portfolio and customer base has grown, Thorman Hunt & Co's ideals have not been compromised.
Today, 95% of the producers they represent are French. All of their representatives visit producers on a very regular basis. As such, they are able to offer their customers a high level of first hand knowledge and advice.
The predominantly French administration team is fully focused on providing exemplary customer service - whether arranging delivery from our extensive stocks held at London City Bond, Tilbury or facilitating ex cellar purchases directly from producers.
Thorman Hunt & Co continues to supply, exclusively, the Independent Wine Trade throughout the UK and, in London, the finest hotels and restaurants.
Dynamic Vines is an independent natural wines merchant that has built a strong reputation by providing unique wines and attentive service.
The company concentrates on sourcing wines that reflect their place of origin: the soil, the climate and their people. Dynamic Vines believes that wine is made in the vineyard rather than in the winery therefore most of our producers are growing their vines naturally.
Dynamic Vines believes that biodynamic and organic agriculture enhances the unique “sense of place” of a wine because there are no elements added to the soil, and this is strongly reflected in their outstanding portfolio.
